'One-Handed Catch" -A great book to read

One handed catch is a slightly humorous tale about a boy who lived post World War Two. This story is a wonderful tale about a boy who overcomes a physical disability. He finds his strength to move past this obstacle. I would definitely recommend you to read the story, “One-Handed Catch.”

After Norm's unfortunate accident in his parents shop, he loses his arm in an accident. On that day, he felt like he had lost his hopes and dreams as well. He felt without his left arm, he couldn't do simple things, like drawing or tying his shoes. With help from his friends Leon and Carl, he moves past his roadblock and proceeds to beat all expectations for him.

If you like books about life in a previous time, you would want to read "One-Handed Catch." I hope you will like this amazing book as well!

America

This land is your land, this land is my land,

Is what I sang in 3rd grade

I am proud to be and American

I know that with my heart

Not meaningless words  anymore

Words easy to understand

Speaking in the universal language:
Hope

Helping us remember what america is

Helping us see the amber fields of grain

Helping us find the light

Somewhere in the darkness

Helping us destroy our fears

I give thanks to america

Because now I definitely know

That this  land was made for you and me

Unstoppable

two teams enter the

field, the crowd is curious

of the outcome both sides on a 120 yard green oasis

knowing that one team will emerge victorious,

the 22 players all have a common interest

to score, pass, and defend, and try not to fall

whistle blows and the game starts,

all players in a frantic haste to get the ball,

a failed attempt to score is imminent

as the player kicks from a bad angle and without

fail the ball skims the edge of the goal,

and fly out of bounds provoking the shouts,

cheering and boo’s of the crowd the goalie kicks the ball,

and it starts soaring in the air over the players heads,

and to the half court line the midfielders

sprint forward to the ball as if  they were being chased, spread

out on the field, and try to receive the ball, only to be stunned

when the black and white sphere in the commotion,

gets kicked out of bounds flying away now it’s time

for the throw-in people wait for the ball to fly in plans in motion,

players cover players, trying to make sure that they won’t

get passed  to, hoping to take the ball for their team

the ball gets thrown in the air, and in fluid

motion, the defending team receives the ball, beam

of joy emerges, quickly put out they know there’s no time

to waste they move, in a flurry  of motion to the goal, hopes getting warmer

goalie not as lucky as before as the ball gets

chipped in,   to the far right corner

Plants

You never yell

You never complain

Even when someone tears leaves of you

You stand strong looking out at the world

You persevere, you never give up

From droughts, blizzards, and many other terrible things

Even when your wilting, leaves browning and falling

No more life to live, degenerating

When no one admires your beautiful looks

You don’t think it’s time to give up, not yet

You send your seeds into the wind

Floating, and floating away

Swishing up and down, leaving no trace

Then you will fall into the soil

And then know you deserve your

rest.

 Going to India

My mom   says   it’s time

To go   to India

I don’t want    too

Saying   do I need to?

No reply,  then says, "pack your bags"

It’s time   to leave

My friends in California

I sigh  stuff my clothes

into an already stuffed suitcase

like thoughts stuffed into   my already full mind

Day’s pass    school's over

time to leave     time to go

Too late to turn back

I start to leave

Those Summer Fridays

Would be excited ‘cause it’s the last day of

the school week but, there is no school, not anymore.

I sleep in till 9 ‘cause I don’t need to wake up early,

but still knowing that I needed to do piano,

brush my teeth, comb my hair, and so on.

I yawn and see my brother is not

on his bed as usual,

And hear my dad in

a call as usual.

I flop of my bed, stumble

down the stairs, shiver when my

feet touch the cold wooden floor,
And plop down on a chair.

So, it’s a summer friday.

Winter

I know winter is coming

The air is bright and new

The world will go to a slumber

I will tell it to you

The air will get colder

The birds will stop singing

Santa's sleigh will arrive

With its jingle bells ringing

The bear will go into its cave

The snow will come

The birds will stop singing

I wonder how the earth will become

The sky wont be blue

It will be gray

But maybe it is a good time

To go out and play

I don't like winter

But sometimes I do

Sometimes it is fun

Sometimes it’s blue

Maybe you’ll like winter

Maybe you’ll not

Maybe you like weather

Better while its hot!

Forgiveness(this poem is for you nishanth:))

You didn’t say sorry       sadly

But I will forgive you       soon

You probably don’t         care

But that is fine            anyway

I know you would           eventually

After I remind you          ….later

I am not angry for your          mistake

Though I wish you could       realize

What you've done           brother

Not that bad          I guess

But still bad          all the same

Now I know         you won’t

But can you        give me

SOME MORE       STRING!
